Mr. Breen’s 5th class hosted a debate on Thursday, 11th April. The motion was ‘Gender Equality in Modern Society’. The debate was adjudicated by Mrs. Morrisson, Mr. Phelan, Chairman of the Board and Mrs. Fanning. The girls faced off against the boys and although there were many excellent arguments on both sides, the girls won out by a slight margin in the end. Both teams showed that they had undertaken considerable research into the topic and used great persuasive language throughout. They also showed a lot of confidence as the debate took place in front of their peers. Well done to all involved.
