Our Artwork.

26th Oct 2021

This term we have been learning all about colour theory. We started off the year by leaning about the colour wheel. The colour wheel is made up primary, secondary and tertiary colours. The 3 primary colours are blue, yellow and red and these 3 colours cannot be made using any other colours. When you mix 2 primary colours together, you get secondary colours. The 3 secondary colours are violet, green and orange. Finally mixing a primary colour with a secondary colour gives us a tertiary colour. You can see a sample of our colour wheels below. We then used our knowledge of the colour when to make colour wheel umbrellas.

We then moved on to learning about tints and shades. Tints are colours that are made when you add white to the base hue/colour. Shades are colours that are made when you add black to the base hue/colour. You can see a sample of our practise tints and shades sheets below. We then used this knowledge to create our Halloween night scene silhouette paintings. We hope you love our artwork as much as we do!
