Halloween Week.

26th Oct 2021

We had a very busy week leading up to midterm. We spent most of the week researching and assembling our projects on The Titanic. I was amazed by the fantastic efforts put in by each child during their research and assembly but I was blown away by the standard of projects that were presented to the class on Thursday. Each person did a fantastic job.

On Wednesday 5th and 6th Class were invited over the Patrician Presentation Secondary School in Fethard to see the school and to sample some of the subjects that they have to offer. The children were split into groups and each group got to experience mini Maths, Home Economics, Woodwork, P.E. and Biology lessons. We really enjoyed our visit to the school and were very appreciative of the chance to experience the school and see it for ourselves so thank you to all the staff who showed us around. Below are some pictures of the projects that we were shown in the Woodwork room which really impressed us.

Every Thursday morning, we have rugby training with Aidan from Munster Rugby. We really enjoy these sessions and look forward to them every week. There are some pictures below from one of our training sessions.

Finally, to end our busy week, we baked brownies in class with the help of Mrs Morrisson, Ms McMahon, Ms Egan and Claire. We had 4 different stations set up and the class was split into 4 groups. Each group got to weigh out the ingredients, sift the flour, whisk the eggs and sugar, fold the mixture and pour it into the baking tin. We then baked the brownies in the oven, waited for them to cool and decorated them using icing pens before enjoying our creations on Friday afternoon. Each teacher and staff member commended 6th Class on their excellent behaviour and listening skills at each station which was lovely to hear after such a busy and fun week!
