Challenge to Change Action Day 5/4/17

3rd Apr 2017

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

As you know, we are currently working on a whole school project on homelessness. We have been discussing homelessness in Ireland and abroad, and have been thinking about ways in which we can help.

To learn more and bring our knowledge together, we are having an action day in school on Wednesday, 5th April. We will have a guest speaker via Skype, games in the hall and some lessons on homelessness.

As part of this, we are really excited to be making a C.D. with a song called ‘Home’ by Phillip Phillips. We will launch it on that day also. It will cost €5 and will feature the voices of children from 2nd to 6th class and instruments from some children and local artists.

C.D.s can be purchased that day too and pre-orders can be collected. The proceeds from these C.D. sales will be divided between The Alice Leahy fund and the Clonmel Community Soup Kitchen, run by Amanda Quigley and Ina Doyle. We ask you to support these wonderful causes.

We invite parents/ guardians into school from 2.15pm on the 5th April, where we will perform our song and launch the C.D. We will also hold a food drive and collect any bundles of unwanted clothes. Please don’t buy especially for this, but we ask that you have a look for tins of food/packets of soup that might be at the back of the cupboard that you find you have not used. Donated items will go to the Soup Kitchen in Clonmel.

We thank you for supporting our school with this ‘Challenge to Change’.
